POINT 01

Technologies × Human Capital

Dexerials originated from Sony Chemical, which was formed through the integration of various companies across diverse fields within the former Sony Group. Based on this background,
Dexerials has a large number of engineers with diverse professional backgrounds. The six core technologies that they have refined over many years serve as the driving force behind the Company’s problem-solving capabilities.
By combining these technologies and continuously evolving them, Dexerials is able to develop highly differentiated products that anticipate rapidly changing societal needs.

  • Thin-film Formation & Coating

    Thin-film Formation&Coating

Since its founding, it has used Roll to Roll method to provide high-quality films.
They have not only Wet system but also Dry system technologies, and functional films using them are developed and commercialized.

  • Inorganic Materials

    Inorganic Materials

The company develops and commercializes highly unique materials and components by making full use of the design of inorganic materials, including functional fillers, metal plating technologies, and inorganic material processing.

  • Microfabrication

    Microfabrication

Optical and machining technologies are used to form nano-to micron-level microstructures with high accuracy and mass production, supporting the development of diverse advanced products.

  • Organic Materials

    Organic Materials

By combining monomer, polymer, filler, etc., compounding technology consisting of material design power and know-how, many products in liquid, film, and sheet form are produced.

  • Photonics

    Photonics

Having wafer process technology and taking full advantage of the characteristics of compound semiconductors, the technology contributes to the development of high-speed, high-reliability photodetectors from optical communications to sensing applications.

  • Evaluation & Analysis

    Evaluation&Analysis

It contributes to development and commercialization by supporting problem solving using organic and inorganic analysis technology and simulation technology such as microstructure analysis technology, opticals, and fluids.

Research & Development

POINT 02

Unique Customer Approach

Dexerials’ product development is supported by a dual approach to both end customers, such as IT device manufacturers and automakers, and direct customers, including display manufacturers and component manufacturers.

Starting from the initial stages, we engage in continual dialogue with the end customer throughout the product development process. By leveraging this Design-in approach, which takes careful consideration of factors such as design background and usage conditions, we are able to offer optimized solutions.
Moreover, we even offer support for product ease of use and mass production process stability among display manufacturers, assemblers, and other parties directly involved in actual manufacturing operations (our direct customers). Such Spec-in measures enable integrated support for the entire process, from design through to mass production.
These two pillars of product creation make it possible to strengthen bonds of trust with customers while identifying new needs, forming a positive value-creation loop that benefits future product development efforts.

POINT 03

Communication Capabilities × Proposal Capabilities

Dexerials does more than provide customers with products designed to specifications. We also anticipate technical problems of which the customer is not yet aware and develop solutions—this is one of our major strengths. We rapidly identify changes in the market and wider society, develop a fundamental understanding of the issues, and come up with concrete solutions using optimal technologies. Our backcasting-focused approach to manufacturing entails anticipating future issues and then working backward to find the most effective solutions. Despite our products’ niche nature, this strategy has helped us establish a strong market presence. This is made possible thanks to Dexerials human capital equipped with high-level specialization, foresight, and dialogue skills, and also thanks to dialogue with the customers who serve as partners for joint value creation. Our strength lies not in the fact that we do not set out with the goal of differentiating ourselves from competitors, but instead in realizing products for which there is no competition as the result of our approaches.

POINT 04

Agile Customer Responsiveness

Dexerials places a strong emphasis on responding swiftly to customer needs. Through close communication with customers, we accurately understand their priorities, which not only strengthens relationships of trust but also leads to faster and more effective innovation.

Dexerials is also steadily expanding its global operations, building relationships with partners and customers by leveraging the strengths of each location worldwide.`
