Dexerials Corporation (Headquarters: Shimotsuke-shi, Tochigi; Representative Director and President: Yoshihisa Shinya, hereinafter “Dexerials”) is pleased to announce the commercialization of the SFK 75A series of self-control protectors which achieve the highest maximum rated current of any of our surface mount fuses,^*1 supporting a rated voltage of 62 VDC and a rated current of 75A.

The Self Control Protector (“SCP”) is a surface mount fuse that acts as a protective element for secondary protection circuits, designed to melt the fuse element and cut off the circuit when the primary protection controlling the charging and discharging of lithium-ion batteries fails to function correctly, resulting in overcharging or an overcurrent. Since the launch of SCPs in 1994, they have been widely adopted in devices such as laptops and smartphones. Recently, with the expansion of the applications for lithium-ion batteries, they have also been used in power tools and electric bikes, and with the advancement of AI technology, they are being used in battery backup units (BBUs)^*2 for AI servers in data centers, an area where demand is increasing.

For a long time, customers have been requesting SCP products that are capable of handling the high currents that are necessary for improving the performance of final products, and we have been advancing development. The SFK 75A series optimizes our proprietary low-resistance fuse element technology, making it possible for the new SCPs to maintain the same size as conventional 60A-rated SCPs while being widely used in applications requiring high capacity and high output with large currents. With their compact size of 9.5 mm wide, 5.0 mm high, and 2.0 mm thick, these SCPs also contribute to space-saving measures within final products.

Additionally, this series will be exhibited for the first time at The Battery Show Europe^*3, Europe’s largest battery technology exhibition which is scheduled to be held in Stuttgart, Germany starting on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Our company will continue to provide a wide variety of products to facilitate the use of SCPs, which have many different applications, and by enhancing global recognition of SCPs as a product that contributes to the improvement of the safety of lithium-ion batteries, we will contribute to the evolution of technology.
