Dexerials to Unveil the Newly Developed High-Speed Waveguide-Type Photo Detector at OFC 2025
Event
2025.03.10
Dexerials Corporation (Headquarters: Shimotsuke, Tochigi Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Yoshihisa Shinya) will participate in one of the world’s largest exhibitions in the optical communications field, OFC 2025, to be held in San Francisco from Tuesday, April 1 to Thursday April 3, 2025. Here, Dexerials plans to unveil four newly developed products, including the High-Speed Waveguide-Type Photo Detector.

OFC 2025 is a conference/exhibition specializing in optical communications. Dexerials’ booth (Booth 2453) will debut our Anisotropic Conductive Film (ACF) manufactured with Dexerials’ advanced technologies, which have obtained the No. 1* share in the global market, along with our newly developed 1.3 μm/1.5 μm Band High-Speed Waveguide-Type Photo Detector, silicon photonics PICs for coherent systems, wavelength plates for wavelength-selective switches, and adhesives for transceivers. These solutions aim to address challenges in the optical communications field.
Additionally, during the exhibition period, Dexerials plans to introduce the High-Speed Waveguide-Type Photo Detector through brief presentations within our booth.
- * The 2023 share for value amount of ACF for large-sized and small-to-medium-sized displays according to the “Reality and Future Prospect of Display Related Market 2024”issued by Fuji Chimera Research Institute, inc.
About the 1.3 μm/1.5 μm Band High-Speed Waveguide-Type Photo Detector (newly developed product)
This product incorporates a waveguide-type photodetector with a UTC (Uni Travel Carrier) structure, which achieves broader frequency bandwidth and higher photosensitivity. By accelerating optical transceivers, this device contributes to significant advancements in the optical communications industry. This technology enables next-generation transceivers to exceed 1.6 Gbps.
Main features
-
Feature 1:Incorporation of the UTC structure. In contrast to general PIN-structure photo detectors, higher frequency characteristics have been achieved through using only high-speed electrons as carriers.
-
Feature 2:Incorporation of a waveguide-structured photo detector enables both high photosensitivity and wide bandwidth.
Dexerials regularly participates in exhibitions to strengthen relationships with our existing customers and help new customers better understand our products, technologies, and solutions.
We look forward to seeing you at our booth.
