Dexerials Corporation (Headquarters: Shimotsuke-shi, Tochigi, Representative Director and President: Yoshihisa Shinya, hereinafter, Dexerials) announce that it has received the 'Special Award' at the 1st Intellectual Property and Intangible Asset Governance Awards, hosted by the Intellectual Property and Intangible Asset Governance Promotion Association (IPIAGPA)*1. This award recognizes outstanding companies that practice intellectual property and intangible asset governance to enhance corporate value and promote activities that serve as role models for Japanese companies.

Dexerials began operations in 2012*2. Since then, it has supported the evolution of technology by developing products that anticipate social and technological changes, by constantly taking on the challenges of creating something that has never existed before, under its Corporate Philosophy: “Integrity; Have Integrity and Sincerity.” Currently, Dexerials develops, manufactures, and distributes electronic components, adhesive materials, optical materials, and other functional materials that are indispensable in smartphones, laptops, and other electronic devices, as well as in automobiles whose electrification is increasing. The company operates 8 manufacturing and sales locations in Japan (including those of its subsidiaries) and 11 overseas.

This award recognizes our efforts to actively utilize and disclose intellectual property and intangible assets. With the revision of the Corporate Governance Code in 2021, companies are increasingly required to practice intellectual property and intangible asset governance and disclose information to investors and other stakeholders. Dexerials also discloses proactive activities related to intellectual property and intangible asset governance in the Dexerials Integrated Report*3.
Our group considers intellectual property to be one of our important management assets and conducts intellectual property intelligence activities by utilizing IP landscape*4 for the creation of new businesses and business evaluation. In the 'Mid-Term Management Plan 2028' announced in May 2024, Dexerials has identified technology and human resources as materiality (most important management issues), and strengthening intellectual property competitiveness is included in the 'technology' issues. At the same time, Dexerials is actively investing in human capital, particularly engineers, through intellectual property education for employees and the introduction of a new invention reward system. Furthermore, through its intellectual property IR strategy initiatives, Dexerials aims to widely and proactively disclose the status of intellectual property investments and activities, thereby enhancing engagement with its stakeholders

Dexerials will accelerate intellectual property and intangible asset governance activities across the entire group. By having the management team, business and development departments, and the intellectual property department work together as one to promote management and business strategies, Dexerials aims to connect people and technology, achieve sustainable growth, and enhance corporate value.
