Dexerials Corporation (Headquarters: Shimotsuke-shi, Tochigi, Representative Director and President: Yoshihisa Shinya, hereinafter, “Dexerials”) announced that, related to the extension of its “Kanuma Plant^*1” that it announced on January 31, 2024, it started the construction of a new plant in a new area on September 17. Dexerials aims to begin operating this new plant within fiscal 2026.

At present, the Anisotropic Conductive Film (ACF) manufactured at Kanuma Plant No.2 has had the largest share^*2 of the global ACF for use in the displays of smartphones, automobiles and other products market for five consecutive years. Demand for Dexerials’ ACF is expected to continue to grow as new applications are identified, including in relation to the transition of display technologies from LCD to flexible OLED, the popularization of MicroLEDs which are believed to be a promising next-generation display technology and the films’ use in the installation of sensor modules. Construction of the new plant is positioned as an investment to increase production to achieve the medium- to long-term growth of the Anisotropic Conductive Film (ACF) business in line with the policy of qualitatively strengthening businesses in existing domains, which is one of the policies in the mid-term management plan^*3 announced in May.

Dexerials also aims to transition the plant to a smart factory and make it a zero-emissions building and is preparing to make it a sustainable plant through the introduction of a cogeneration system with an awareness of business continuity planning.
