Dexerials Corporation (Headquarters: Shimotsuke-shi, Tochigi, Representative Director and President: Yoshihisa Shinya, hereinafter, “Dexerials”), which provides leading-edge technologies, materials, and devices for smartphones, automobiles, and other products, and German automobile design house SemsoTec Group (Head office: Garching bei München, Founder and Managing Director: Jochen Semmelbauer; hereinafter, “SemsoTec”) announced today that they will jointly establish an Optical Solution Center (hereinafter, the “Center”) for leading-edge In-Vehicle HMIs* in Cham, Germany. The Center is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2023.

Since start of collaboration in October 2020, Dexerials and SemsoTec have been jointly proposing in-vehicle HMIs and providing relevant technical support, thus enhancing the presence in Germany as the leading place of automotive design trends. Specifically, with both companies using their respective expertise, SemsoTec has been incorporating technologies with utilizing optical elastic resins (SVR) and anti-reflection films from Dexerials into in-vehicle HMI designs. The two companies have been providing prototyping services and suggesting solutions to the customers who are manufacturing automobiles or in-vehicle HMIs.
To create further synergy by accelerating initiatives to realize next-generation in-vehicle HMIs and have them adopted more widely, the companies will establish a new Optical Solution Center for in-vehicle HMIs at SemsoTech’s Cham factory in Germany. The Center, which will be approx. 3,000m2 site area, will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, such as coating machine for optical elastic resin “Jettable SVR,” a new product from Dexerials that corresponds to inkjet coating, and optical bonding machine which enables new design trends of in-vehicle HMIs including large, curved and various shape displays. These technologies will create the opportunities for customers to design, prototype, and consider leading-edge in-vehicle HMIs without introducing additional equipment on their own.
The Center is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2023. By using the Center, Dexerials and SemsoTec will provide customers with cutting-edge technologies, thus contributing to the evolution and safety improvement of in-vehicle HMIs.
